Professional development for Hebrew teachers in the Arab community

This professional development program was carried out with Hebrew teachers in elementary schools in the Arab community during the 2024/25 school year. The focus of the program is on improving the teaching of spoken Hebrew through group sessions and personal mentoring, with the goal of changing teaching methods and raising students’ level of Hebrew.

Evaluation Report: Frontal Hebrew Studies in Elementary School

Evaluation report on frontal Hebrew lessons in elementary schools. As part of the program, instructors in National Service and pre-military preparatory programs teach spoken Hebrew lessons to students. Research findings indicate significant improvement in student achievement and positive attitudes toward the Hebrew language following participation in the program.

Review of Spoken Hebrew Teaching in the Arab Community

A broad strategic review of spoken Hebrew teaching in Israel’s Arab community. It looks at the development of government policies, key challenges, long-term plans, and how the lack of fluency in Hebrew affects integration into education and employment. It also highlights initiatives to improve teaching and align it with the CEFR standard.
